Miriam Erttmann

Miriam Erttmann began her studies in 2000 at the Institute of Musicology, Hamburg. After a couple of semesters she moved to Berlin to study violin at the University of Arts Berlin with Professor Jan Tomeš.
Miriam participated in numerous orchestral projects and master classes not only in Germany but also internationally. After graduation, Miriam performed around the world in over 400 chamber music concerts. Among them were concerts in Admiralspalast Berlin, Nikolaisaal Potsdam, Felicia Blumenthal Center Tel Aviv and Concertgebouw Amsterdam.Besides her passion for classical music, Miriam is very interested in different genres such as jazz, world music and pop.
In 2006, together with Katja Steinhäuser, she founded the Trio Luz y Sombra, which arranges and performs the multifarious opus of Astor Piazzolla throughout Europe. Also, Miriam is a member of the tango-world-jazzband Bassa. To date the group has released four albums with financial support of the „Initiative Musik“ and the „Berliner Kulturförderung“.
In 2012 she founded the singer-songwriter project Blackbird and Spenser, where she sings and plays the piano.
Besides her commitment as a performer, song-writing, arranging and composing are an important part of her artistic work.
